What are veneers?

Dental veneers are thin ceramic layers, custom made and cemented to the surface of your defective enamel to improve shade and shape of your teeth.  Veneers are used by us prosthodontists as one of the resources to dramatically change the appearance of a smile.

Will I have a black line or a blue gum on my teeth?

No you will not. Black lines are produced from crowns fabricated using metal as a foundation and then covered with porcelain, Whereas bluish gum appearance is a sign of corrosion or stain of the remaining tooth structure. Often the treatment for existing cases is internal bleaching and replacement of the restoration using an all-ceramic structure. At Georgia Prosthodontics we are committed to provide nature-like restorations, free of metal and with the highest aesthetic appearance.

Who is the best dentist to do Dental Veneers?

There is no dentist who can specialize on cosmetic dentistry because such specialty does not exist on its own. Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of prosthodontics. Prosthodontists are specialists in functional and esthetic challenges of the oral cavity and are experts in reconstructive and rehabilitation procedures. Trust only a Smile Specialist

After proper planning, the surgery is very safe, done under local anesthesia and with complications in less than 2% of the cases. Most of the patients do not swell or report mild pain after the procedure. Once the implant is placed, an appropriate time to heal between 3 to 6 months is required.
